Why RHL?

RHL has something for everyone; it doesn't matter what you're doing at the moment, the important thing is to be healthy and enjoy life.

We deliver health and wellbeing programmes for individuals, groups and companies. Whether it's in the community or at work or school, there is an activity for you; Exercise Classes for all ages, Zumba, Health Checks and much, much more.

Our overriding wish is that you find what motivates you to be healthy, have fun and feel great! As one regular member says.....

I think your organisation is marvellous, you provide a wonderful service. We all know that we should be doing exercise and eating healthily but you advise us in the nicest possible way and help us with very reasonably priced classes !

Latest RHL News - December

Age No Barrier
This Big Lottery funded project, helping older adults stay active and remain independent, ran from February 2013 and completed on 1st November 2014. Running along similar lines to the ‘Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme' with gold, silver and bronze tiers, well over 600 older people undertook the project.

631 older adults demonstrated increased self-esteem and confidence as a result of the project.

675 older adults participated in a group or social activity.

597 older adults achieved awards.

639 older adults said they had made new acquaintances as a result of the project.

  • Activities ranged from walking, swimming and dance

  • Range of arts and craft based activities

  • Specific help to improve general health and wellbeing

  • Learning new skills

  • Volunteering opportunities

  • Setting personal or physical challenge

  • Meet new people and make new friends.

Steady and Strong
A new exercise programme aimed at older people to who have had a trip or fall as well as those who have not but may be worried about falling. The programme builds strength and makes the person more resilient to a trip or fall.  To book a place, see our exercise class page.
